U40
One the initiatives I’m participating in is something that shouldn’t have a name, but it started as 40 Under 40. We began with the intention of gathering 40 leaders under the age of 40, but we’ve decided age is a lousy way to identify missional leaders. So today, we are “U40″ and it seems we are somewhat stuck with the name for now.

Our organizing question is currently: “How does the church in San Diego work together on seeing the reality of God’s Kingdom increasingly manifested in San Diego?”
The thought is to gather Kingdom minded leaders of the church in San Diego to develop relationships of love and trust, learn from each other, think and plan for where the church needs to be in the next 15 years, and see what coalitions/partnerships/initiatives might emerge. We are currently planning on meeting every other month for the time being. We meet on the fourth Saturday of even-numbered months from 9am to Noon. (updated Jun 19, 2008)
I’m hoping that through this group, we might be able to create an environment that would identify and foster apostolic (innovative, pioneering) leadership for the church of San Diego. I’m hoping for the ability to see some organic/viral sense of organization to develop that better suits the movement-like growth and Kingdom blessing of the church on our city.
Already, some really fantastic initiatives are coming out of our association with one another, and momentum is building.
You’ll see in the pages of this blog, as well as our 40Under40 google group, that there is a lot we are wrestling with. We certainly don’t have any program or strategy to implement, we are just trying to create the kind of environment that will be responsive to the Lord’s leading and working in our awesome city.
Here are a few posts under the U40 category.
